The Story
Hypothesis
While looking for ways to trim expenses, we took a closer look at our software and tooling costs. The email platform we were using charged $25 per seat per month, but its core value was fairly simple: the ability to reply to emails directly from the tool and assign messages to yourself or other teammates. The hypothesis was that a lighter, purpose-built alternative could cover these needs at a much lower cost.
The Build
The app is powered by the Fastmail API for sending and receiving email, combined with the OpenAI API for analyzing incoming messages. OpenAI is used for sentiment analysis and to generate suggested auto-replies, giving users three quick response options they can choose from. This approach keeps the workflow fast while still preserving the ability to respond or assign emails directly within the app.
